Terms of Use

Last updated October 22, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of Backlogboard. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you are using Backlogboard for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to use Backlogboard. You agree to give accurate account information and to keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account, so tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.

3. Workspaces and members

Content is organised into workspaces. Workspace owners and administrators control who can access their workspace and can invite, change the role of, or remove members, and can delete workspace content.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and renewals

Paid plans are sold per workspace and priced on our Pricing page. Subscriptions are billed in advance, on either a monthly or annual cycle, and renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Payment is taken by our payment provider using the card details you supply.

You can cancel at any time; your paid features stay available until the end of the period you have already paid for, and the workspace then returns to the free plan. Prices may change, and we will give you notice before your next renewal if they do. Prices exclude any taxes we are required to charge.

5. Where subscriptions are bought and managed

Subscriptions are purchased, changed, and cancelled on the Backlogboard website. Our mobile applications do not sell subscriptions, do not process payments, and do not offer in-app purchases. Signing in to the mobile app gives you access to the workspaces you have already paid for.

6. Refunds

Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Cancelling does not refund the current period, and you keep access until that period ends. You can stop future renewals by cancelling before the renewal date.

7. Free plan and usage limits

The free plan includes limits on the number of projects, members, sprints, and free workspaces, as shown in the product. We may adjust plan features and limits over time and will give reasonable notice of material changes.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Backlogboard for anything unlawful, or in breach of anyone's rights;
  • upload malicious code, or content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • attempt to access workspaces, accounts, or data that are not yours;
  • reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the service, or bypass its usage limits;
  • interfere with the service or place unreasonable load on it; or
  • misrepresent your identity or your organisation.

9. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you and your team create in Backlogboard. You grant us a licence to host, store, display, back up, and process that content only as needed to run the service for you. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you add. We may remove content that breaches these terms.

10. Our content and intellectual property

The Backlogboard application, its design, and its name and logo are ours and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms do not grant you any right to use them beyond using the service as intended.

11. Third-party services

Backlogboard integrates with third-party services and AI providers. Your use of an integration is also governed by that provider's own terms, and we are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services or for AI-generated output, which you should review before relying on it.

12. Availability and changes to the service

We improve Backlogboard continuously, so features may be added, changed, or retired. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may need to interrupt it for maintenance or security reasons.

13. Termination

You may stop using Backlogboard at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or fail to pay. When access ends, your right to use the service stops, and your content is deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimers

Backlogboard is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Australia.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. If we make a material change we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Backlogboard after that means you accept the updated terms.
